16 May 2017 | Hiab showcases its latest innovations and vision for the future of timber handling at the Elmia Wood exhibition, 7-10 June 2017 in Jönköping, Sweden

Hiab, part of Cargotec, will present its wide variety of LOGLIFT/JONSERED forestry cranes and services at the Elmia Wood Exhibition, which takes place from 7-10 June in Jönköping, Sweden. Elmia Wood is the world’s largest forestry exhibition, held every four years.

“At Elmia Wood we will discuss and share our views about the future of timber handling and how we see this industry developing in the coming years. We strongly believe that digitalisation and connectivity will change this industry. Forests will be the same as today but the way logs are delivered from the forest to the sawmills and to other industries will definitely change as automated solutions and the use of big data develops rapidly,” says Roland Sundén, President of Hiab.

“The first LOGLIFT/JONSERED forestry cranes were introduced more than 55 years ago. Since then we have developed and set the market standards, first by introducing the top seat, later the cabins and now moving operations to the truck cabin. We deliver the best solutions for our customers’ needs, with a special focus on safety, ergonomics, efficiency and sustainability of their businesses. We take great pleasure in meeting our customers and visitors, as well as media representatives, to discuss the future of timber handling and present our products and services at our stand No. 801,” continues Jon Lopez, Vice President, Forestry Cranes, Hiab.

At the Elmia Wood exhibition, Hiab will present a selection of crane models under the leading LOGLIFT and JONSERED brands, featuring some of its latest innovations, such as the LOGLIFT 150Z forestry crane with Hydraulic Pilot Control that guarantees smooth and easy operation, as well as precise control over crane movements. The LOGLIFT 125Z incorporates SmartBaseTM for smooth handling, stability and low weight, as well as a Hose Protection Link to guard against blows and sticking.

We also invite our visitors to experience a LOGLIFT forestry crane equipped with HiVisionTM which enables safe and comfortable crane operation inside the truck cabin. There are four cameras on top of the forestry crane that provide the operator with a realistic 270-degree view. This enables the crane operator to see the working area and operate the crane using Virtual Reality (VR) goggles. The first HiVision deliveries took place at the beginning of this year in Sweden and Germany and will continue in Finland and Japan, for example, with customers ranging from operators to educational institutions.
