Hiab to launch MULTILIFT Hooklifts

Hiab announces the launch of MULTILIFT demountables and hooklifts.

The Work Truck Show this week in Indianapolis, Indiana is set to see the launch of the MULTILIFT Hooklifts to the US market.

Business owners, fleet managers and operators worldwide already rely on MULTILIFT to solve common load handling issues with its versatility and strength. This week’s launch will introduce five hooklift models covering the light, medium and heavy duty ranges to the US market.

MULTILIFT has a unique history – spanning nearly 70 years – rooted in innovation, versatility and strength. In 1949 the Terho brothers of Raisio, Finland, purchased a U.S. Army surplus GMC truck to haul timber. Challenged by the heavy and time-consuming transports, the Terho brothers developed a mechanical cable-operated interchangeable platform loader (hereafter called demountable) that utilized the truck’s front winch, making it possible to use a variety of platform bodies. The body was lowered to the ground for loading, allowing the truck itself to perform other duties in the meanwhile. The idea worked and MULTILIFT was born.

“We are proud to now extend the Hiab portfolio in the US by introducing MULTILIFT demountables, which will allow us to further bring customers a total offering of class-leading load handling equipment and connected solutions supported by the premier Hiab service network. We can’t think of a more appropriate event than the Work Truck Show for this important launch.” says Russ Parisi, Vice President North America with Hiab. Hiab has selected the key vertical markets of landscaping, waste & recycling, rock & dirt and municipal for the launch of the XR5, XR7, XR10, XR21 and XR26 light-to-heavy duty range models. MULTILIFT is backed by Hiab USA’s service network – comprised of over 200 service technicians across 21 service locations plus mobile units – which proudly serves HIAB loader cranes, MOFFETT truck mounted forklifts and MULTILIFT hooklifts.

The MULTILIFT demountables and hooklifts together with other Hiab innovations will be presented at Hiab booth #2534 at the Work Truck Show March 6-9. You’re invited to visit us!
