Norra Timber management is very knowledgeable, progressive, and interested in driving sawmill technology forward.

Now they have invested in a third edger to handle the large number of side boards from the saw line.

This new Catech edger system features a capacity of 57 boards per minute.

“The investment in the edger is an important factor in achieving the target of increasing production by 6% per year. We are now more efficient because the two older edgers were a bottleneck. We previously had to choose between slowing things down or running with wider log gaps. With our latest investment we can optimize the choice of edgers, and continue to maintain a steady pace at all times,” says Tom Löfgren, production engineer at Norra Timber.
